AC 1000A Cylinder Boring Machine (NC)

Thanks to the most advanced technologies, Berco has recently developed new products for the internal combustion engines sector, in order to improve and facilitate the execution of different working steps necessary to reach an high quality product.
The introduction in the market of the new CNC cylinder boring machine AC100A represents the solution on the most complex problems involved into the reconditioning of the engine block.
The machine, with its three-axis numerical control system driven by high precision ball screws and with special drives powered by digital brushless motors, allows extremely accurate feed speed setting as well as axis positioning with a considerable reduction of the working cycle time.
The new AC1000A includes an automatic centering system performed by an electronic probe “Renishaw” that checks the cylinders diameter as well.
The control keyboard uses the “Touch Screen” system and grants an extremely simple programming, suitable to be used from all operators.
The spindles is provide with cone ISO40 or Berco spindle connection.

SM 1000 – SM 1300 – SM 2000 Milling Machines for Cylinder Heads and Blocks

The reconditioning of cylinder heads, and valve seats in particular, is becoming an increasingly important aspect of internal combustion engine overhaul work. The fiel of cylinder head and block reconditioning there has been a growing tendency in recent years to switch from grinding with abrasive sectors to milling, using special CBN and PCD round inserts that are able to work at higher cutting speeds and without coolants. This kind of system reduces machining times considerably, whilst at the same time guaranteeing a high-grade surface finish (roughness). In the design and construction of this product, BERCO, as always, has paid great attention to the quality of the materials and components used, with particular reference to the very sturdy cast iron frame and the worktable and head movement mechanisms with their high-precision recirculating ball screws, which, thanks also to the special drives, powered by direct current motors, allow extremely precise worktable/workpiece feed speed setting and milling cutter positioning. In order to cater for varying user needs, BERCO has made two machine versions, the “SM1000” and the “SM1300” for small and medium size cylinder heads and blocks and “SM2000” for medium and big size cylinder heads and blocks:
SM 1000 M – SM 1300 M (manual versions)
SM 1000 A – SM 1300 A (automatic versions)
SM 2000 A (automatic versions)

STC361-STC461 Hydraulic Grinding/Milling Mach. for Cylinder Heads and Blocks

STC 361 are hydraulic grinding machines for small and medium-size cylinder heads and blocksand blocks.
STC461 are hydraulic grinding and milling machine for medium and big size cylinder heads and blocks
These machines are accurate and versatile: they make it possible to solve all grinding problems in an optimal and economic way.
STC 361 & STC461 machines are characterized by the automatic alternating movement of the table which is hydraulically controlled; the head is operated by one of the main motors which directly controls the grinding wheel shaft and by an additional motor for cutter control.
These machines allow for three different grinding procedures: with grinding wheel, single-edged cutting tool or insert milling cutter.

ASV/B ASB/BL Valve Seat Boring Machine

The reconditioning of cylinder heads, and valve seats in particular, is becoming an increasingly important aspect of internal combustion engine overhaul work. A number of changes have been made to the new ASV/B model, the version intended for the smallmedium sized cylinder head range. The quill diameter has been enlarged to increase the machine’s rigidity and, on request, a micrometric spindle feed device can be fitted to improve machining precision on the valve seats. As regards larger size diesel engines, continuous technological evolution has led to the manufacture of cylinder heads with four valves per cylinder as a standard feature, with a corresponding increase in the size of the cylinder heads themselves. The answer to the problems related to this can be found in the new ASV/BL valve seat boring machine.

ACP 160 Boring Machine Line for Cylinders

The manual version of ACP160M boring machine for cylinder blocks represents the most thechnologically advanced and most economically advantageous solution for engine reconditioning work-shops which do not have a large volume of monoblocks to be conditioned.
Its simple use, as well as its excellent performance, make it an extremely versatile machine capable of carrying out all the various boring operations in a rapid and secure manner, and at a very low cost.
The machine is available with normal or long machine bed.
The semiautomatic version ACP 160S, compared to the manual version, has been designed for the client with a higher volume for reconditioning work on engine blocks.
Thanks for the control offered by the positioner, this machine allows for all boring operations to be carried out at high and efficient level of automation.
All movements of the boring bar are controlled by the electric servocontrols on the positioner, and are furthermore directly controllable from the console.
This machine can work in both manual and semiautomatic modes.
In the case of semiautomatic mode, it is possibleto select the functions of either cylinder boring or spotfacing
The CNC system allows the following operations to be carried out in automatic mode during the work cycle:

- positioning of the boring unit at the level of the cylinder to be bored
- quick vertical approch of the tool boring bar to the cylinder
- precision spot-drilling and blocking of the boring unit on the machine bed surface
- start up of the rotation and feeding of the boring bar movement
- at the end of the work, feeding stop and rotation stop with the positioning of the tool and the rapid return of the boring bar to the position required for the next cylinder
- at the end of the programmed cylinders working, the boring unit returns automatically to its position at the begining of the cycle
- self learning of the working cycle
- no.100 cycles to be stored
- possibility to work in manual, semiautomatic and automatic modes

BC1600 – BC2600 Line Boring Machines for Cylinder Heads and Blocks

A fundamental role is played in Cylinder block reconditioning of the geometrical relationship between the crankshaft axe and the cylinder block axe.
Although simple operations in themselves, boring crankshafts journals axe requires time, and precision in essential to the quality of the result.
To aid the operator in this specific application, Berco has designed the new BC1600A and BC2600A horizontal CNC boring machines.
The machine has the same robust construction of its predecessor, but the boring head section has been completely revolutionized with the introduction of the new rotary feed system driven by high power and torque brushless motors, both for the spindle drive and feed itself.
The using the recalculating ball screw, liner guides and simple and friendly numerical control with operating keyboard easily programming, make the machines among the fastest, simplest and precise to program and operate in the market in this sector.
