Process: Accumulator head with parison transfer

The combination of accumulator head and parison transfer in a single technology allows to get the advantages of both processes: the extrusion time is made independent from the cycle time, and the parison can be pushed out as slow as needed for a perfect thickness profiling, as fast as necessary to prevent it to sag.
This process is mostly advisable when you need a very long parison (for instance, to produce twin cavity neck-to-neck open top drums) to be accurately profiled in thickness.
To achieve a double production rate with a very limited extra investment – and no compromise on the product quality –two cavities can be vertically aligned in the mold. This idea has made the great success of the UMA 60.PT for the open top drums production, combining an accumulator head with a quick parison feeding movement performed by an electro-mechanical transfer device.
An automatic wide mouth cutting unit – accurate, compact, and reliable – easily completes the production cell and delivers finished drums.
